오늘 유럽연합 집행위원회와 캐나다는 디지털 정책과 혁신 분야의 협력을 더욱 강화하고 EU-캐나다 디지털 파트너십을 계속 이행하기 위해 온라인 디지털 대화를 개최했다.
올해 디지털 대화에서는 2025년 12월 8일 열린 제1차 EU-캐나다 디지털 파트너십 이사회에서 합의한 야심 찬 공동 약속의 진행 상황을 점검했다. 또한 유럽연합 집행위원회 위원장 우르줄라 폰데어라이엔이 2026년 연례 국정연설에서 발표한 EU와 캐나다 간 긴밀한 협력의 우선순위도 반영했다.
오늘 논의에서는 안전, 규제, 혁신 등 인공지능의 다양한 측면을 다뤘다. 고성능 컴퓨팅, 북극을 통한 안전한 국제 연결, 디지털 신원증명 및 지갑, 온라인 안전과 미성년자의 온라인 보호도 논의했다.
회의는 유럽연합 집행위원회 통신 네트워크·콘텐츠·기술 총국의 르나테 니콜라이 부총국장과 캐나다 혁신·과학·경제개발부(ISED)의 알렉산드라 도스탈 차관보가 공동 의장을 맡았다.

EU and Canada held a Digital Dialogue to advance cooperation on digital policy and innovation
Today, the European Commission and Canada held an online Digital Dialogue to further strengthen their cooperation on digital policy and innovation and continue implementing the EU-Canada Digital Partnership.
This year’s Digital Dialogue takes stock of ambitious joint commitments made at the first EU Canada Digital Partnership Council on 8 December 2025 and reflects priorities for closer collaboration between the EU and Canada announced in the 2026 State of the Union address by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
Discussions today focused on many aspects of artificial intelligence, such as safety, regulation and innovation, but also on high-performance computing and on secure international connectivity via the Arctic, on digital credentials and wallets, as well as on online safety and protection of minors online.
The meeting was co-chaired by Renate Nikolay, Deputy Director-General at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology, and Alexandra Dostal, Assistant Deputy Minister at Innovation, Science and Economic Development (ISED), Canada.
